Motto

The Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karatedo motto adopted by our founder is:   “doku ji gyo se ki”

which literally translated means

“Spiritual Development of Individuality in Mind and Body”

The Australian Shorinjiryu Karatedo Assoc started out as a branch of  Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karatedo and have used this motto as our own

In 2011, the National Executive of the Australian Shorinjiryu Karatedo Assoc founded their independent School of Shorinjiryu Koshinkai Karatedo and took on a new motto:

“On Ko Chi Shin”  (温故知新)
